OPENNEBULA SUPPORT EXTENSIONS

Support Extensions extend the features of the OpenNebula subscription to support other components or services of the cloud infrastructure.

OpenNebula provides native support for hybrid cloud computing with connectors for the main public cloud providers.

Support for the cloudbursting functionality implies an additional cost according to the number of public cloud regions (each region is represented by a single cloudbursting host in OpenNebula), starting at €1.000 ($1,250) for 1 cloud region with Basic SLA. Beyond the first cloud region the cost of additional regions is reduced by 40%, and there is no extra cost beyond 5 cloud regions.

WHAT THE ADD-ON INCLUDES

OpenNebula Systems provides expert guidance of any issue and/or incident arising in the operation of the supported public cloud providers from the OpenNebula cloud manager. Support is offered at the same production SLAs as OpenNebula and includes: helping diagnose and solve unexpected problems when using or configuring this component; guidance about their tuning for optimal and scalable performance; and, bug fixing and workarounds to address missing and/or deficient features.

Enterprise support is provided for the certified versions of the software infrastructure components, as described in the Release Notes of OpenNebula. This combination of components has been through the complete OpenNebula Quality Assurance and Certification activities, and has been tested together using the Open Cloud Reference Architecture to ensure that these various software pieces work bug-free as a whole.

WHAT THE ADD-ON EXCLUDES

Support excludes any problem and in general any issue not related to the operation of the public cloud using OpenNebula features.

The Front-end HA Extension provides commercial support for setting up a high available cluster for OpenNebula core services.

The Front-end HA Extension increases the cost of the support subscription by 25%

WHAT THE ADD-ON INCLUDES

OpenNebula uses a distributed consensus protocol to provide fault-tolerance and state consistency across OpenNebula services. This extension provides support for bootstrapping and operating an OpenNebula HA cluster.

WHAT THE ADD-ON EXCLUDES

This Extension does not cover any other HA architecture built with third-party components.

The Hypervisor Hosts Extension extends the OpenNebula Support subscription to the virtualization nodes in the Open Cloud Reference Architecture.

The Hypervisor Hosts Extension increases the cost of the support subscription by 25%

WHAT THE ADD-ON INCLUDES

OpenNebula Systems provides expert guidance of any issue and/or incident arising in the deployment, configuration and operation of the following infrastructure components from its integration with OpenNebula.

  • The software stack running in the virtualization nodes of the cloud infrastructure required to work with OpenNebula, namely the operating system (Ubuntu/CentOS), the hypervisor (libvirt and KVM) and the networking tools (VXLAN/VLAN 802.1Q).

Support is offered at the same production SLAs as OpenNebula and includes: helping diagnose and solve unexpected problems when using or configuring these components; guidance about their tuning for optimal and scalable performance; and, if feasible, workarounds to address missing and/or deficient features.

Any bug discovered in the kernel or Linux packages, such as KVM or libvirt, while resolving a customer support request, if there is no existing bugfix, will be reported to the affected upstream component. OpenNebula Systems will follow-up its resolution. In the meantime a workaround may be provided.

Support excludes hardware devices, any software apart from host OS, guest OS, host OS not used exclusively as part of an OpenNebula cloud, and in general any problem not related to the operation of the cloud.

OpenNebula Systems cannot provide immediate minor enhancements and hot fixes for the cloud infrastructure components as it provides with OpenNebula.
